Verde River Kayak Challenge

The forest service and NAU have canceled this event due to extreme water flows and snowpack. We will change this event to a lake paddle so everyone can get their spring paddle fix started. We'll still meet at the original spot and decide between Lake Pleasant and Bartlett Lakes.

This is a kayaking funfest for everyone from beginner to advanced. Two divisions, one competitive and one just to float along and with all combinations of boats. About 150 kayaks and canoes of all sizes, colors and shapes will run the Verde River from the White Bridge in Camp Verde, 10 miles down to Beasley Flats.
The parks and rec supply spotters along the route to help everyone in a touchy corner or spot they could get wet in. They can help you if needed or laugh at you when not.
Everyone with a kayak or canoe is welcome to sign up and join the race.
All OTP kayaks are now rented.
You may rent a kayak from me for $50 for single kayaks and $80 for a double. I have 5 single and 2 doubles available for rent. I will haul them up to the river and back, also supplying paddles and PFD's. This price does NOT include registration into the race.

We will meet at McDonald's at I-17 and Carefree Hwy at 8AM and carpool/caravan up to Camp Verde and the race starting point.
